Great diner style breakfast and good service. Can be very busy on weekends but overall still a great place which is pretty rare in Fort St John. These guys complaining about the price are dumb it's all pretty standard prices especially for this part of the world.

No surprises here, great tasting comfort food, large portions, very rustic surroundings and friendly, no nonsense wait staff. On a recent visit my three year old grandson was complaining rather loudly over the amount of bacon on his plate. Our server wasted little time cutting the bacon in two, then shot him a sideways glance that shut him up for the remainder of the meal. I still smile when I recall the look on his face.
I'm partial to the omelettes served here, in particular the Denver. Fluffy eggs overflowing with generous chunks of ham, onions and peppers and covering most of the plate, it's a bit of a chore to finish in one sitting.
Opens early (6Am) and stays fairly busy until the lunch crowd clears shortly after (1Pm).
If you're hungry, in a hurry and don't care about ambience you could do a lot worse. -

To what do you compare a place like this? Greasy spoon? Cook house? Cafe? Then comparing it to places in fort st. John or Vancouver?
I would say it's a great little cafe, rather dated looking, like the staff, it all looks a bit tired.
But if you drive by there is always about 10 - 15 trucks outside.
I had a "Goldpan" which is a sort of skillet type of thing, it was very good! Not greasy at all, and was made with fresh stuff, and came out really hot.
The coffee is good and the staff will never stop trying to fill it up.
My only complaint is that the bill came to over 17.00 with tip.. A bit expensive in my books. But I would go back. -

The food here was good, it came out hot and relatively quickly. The service was wonderful, something severely lacking in this town. Loads of parking and we were seated right away. The only real complaint I have is the price. Our party was two adults and two kids and we each ordered a typical breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns), an order of potato pancakes to share, and coffee or juice and bill was just over $75.00. I thought it was a hidden camera joke to see the expression on my face, but no, it all added up. I would go back for the food, but I will not because of the price.
The stuffed bear at the front counter is pretty cool though
